Celebrate the cultural and historical significance of Juneteenth and freedom through music, art, food and Black-owned businesses for an entire weekend. Friday & Saturday, June 14-15, 2024, at Miller Outdoor Theatre and Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Avenida Houston & Discovery Green, downtown’s premier convention and entertainment district.

Miller Outdoor Theatre will feature a poignant exploration of Black music’s evolution in this year’s presentation of Juneteenth: A Musical Journey Through Eras. From classic R&B to Gospel, Blues, and Hip-Hop, this production highlights the heartfelt lyrics that echo social upheavals and the quest for equality while also paying homage to the indomitable spirit of Black communities and the diverse expressions of Black artistry.

This year, both Avenida Houston and Discovery Green will activate with a series of events commemorating Juneteenth and the end of slavery. This family-friendly event will offer multiple genres of live music, top DJs, art, games, BLCK Market vendors, health and fitness activations, food trucks, fireworks, and much more. Houston Pride Parades

This year, Pride Month is set to be more epic than ever before in Bayou City thanks to two separate celebrations in June. Houston’s New Faces of Pride and Pride Houston 365 are the organizations hosting Pride festivities with plenty of activities and fun for the entire community and allies to look forward to. With promises to “present Pride like never before”, Houston’s New Faces of Pride is looking forward to their inaugural celebrations on June 22. Featuring indoor and outdoor activities, the celebration will take over Fish Plaza at Wortham Theater Center. The parade will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Bagby St. at outbound Allen Parkway, and stretch 15 blocks downtown for all to come out and enjoy once the sun begins to set.

ForPride Houston 365, this year marks the 46th annual parade and festival. Embracing the theme of "You Won't Break Our Pride,” the organization is slated to host their festival and parade on June 29 at City Hall downtown, along with other events to enjoy.
