4 Ingredient Christmas Cookies - Your Cup of Cake (1)

Christmas cookies that are delicious and beautiful and only take 4 ingredients to make! Yes, Christmas cookies really can be that easy! It’s like a chocolate brownie cookie and the simple topper of the Hershey Kiss just makes it so cute! Now, I used the Candy Cane kind but you can use regular, mint, or whatever kind you prefer. Santa would even love to have these on his cookie plate when he comes to bring you gifts! Ditch those peanut butter cookies and bring these chocolate Christmas cookies to all your friends!

The longer you bake these, the more “cakey” they’ll be, I prefer mine to be fudgey so I undercook them. Remember, cookies (and anything) will continue to cook while it’s out of the oven so be careful on your cooking times! This is also why I HIGHLY suggest using a Pillsbury mix. They bake up tall while most other mixes tend to spread out when baking way too much. I like the look of my cookies to be small and with a little height as opposed to flat silver dollar pancakes.

Easy to make Christmas Cookies

This cookie recipe is almost too good to be true! That’s right, 4 Ingredient Christmas Cookies! Oil, eggs, cake mix and Hershey Kisses! This is a perfect treat for a last minute cookie swap or gift. No need to bust out all that flour, sugar, stand mixer or anything else to make your cookie batter! Just use a cake mix that already has everything measured for you.

Food Scoops are the best! My life really did change when I got my first one years ago. Not only does a food scoop give you the same size cookies, cupcakes and muffins but it saves so much time! And for cookies, it scoops out perfectly round dough balls! It’s a great stocking stuffer gift for the baker in your family! I like the blue or yellow for cupcakes and the black for cookies, but these cookies need to be quite small so I used my purple scoop which also works for mini cupcakes!

Also, if you aren’t making your cookies on parchment paper, you are missing out! Smooth, crumb-free bottoms on all your cookies and no need to even wash your baking sheets after! Give it to the food scoops and parchment paper baking life!

Into the oven they go!

If your cookies come out a little too tall for you liking, they will settle a bit AND once you pop in that Hershey’s Kiss they’ll be cute as a Gingerbread man’s buttons! Make sure to get those Kisses in pretty soon after your cookies are done baking so they can melt a little into the cookie.

Press a Kiss on top and you’re set! Wasn’t that easy? My kids love to press in the Kiss at the end. If your kids are really little, move the cookies to a cool baking sheets or cooling racks before letting them press in the Kiss. We don’t want their cute little fingers getting burned by accident! Ouch!

I love a Christmas sugar cookie, but I feel like I always get so many of those from friends during the holidays! Mix it up and make these 4 Ingredient Chocolate Christmas Cookies this year!

The BEST Chocolate Christmas Cookie Recipe

Cookie Variations: You could also swap out the Kiss for a pecans, Andes Mint chocolate, walnuts or M&M’s, mix in sprinkles to the cookie batter or other fun things to change the look of the cookies! Sometimes we’ll make a double batch and “top” them a few different ways to make our cookie boxes have more variety. Need to make it gluten free? Just use a gluten-free cake mix!

4 Ingredient Christmas Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1box devil's food cake mixI prefer Pillsbury
  • 2large eggs
  • 1/3Cupoil
  • 30-40Hershey KissesI used the Candy Cane ones but the mint would be great too!

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line cookies sheets with parchment paper.

  2. 2. Combine cake mix, eggs and oil in a medium sized bowl. Stir until smooth.

  3. 3. Scoop small dough balls a little smaller than a Tablespoon onto cookies sheets and bake for 5-7 minutes. (Cake mix cookies will bake up tall and not spread too much so if you want a flatter cookie, pat the dough balls down a little before baking.)

  4. 4. Let cool for 2 minutes and then gently press an unwrapped Hershey Kiss into each cookie.
